We need samples from:

  • river

  • lake

  • stream

  • creek

  • large dams that are connected to other watercourses

We don’t need samples taken from small dams, water tanks, or any other minor water bodies.

Before submitting your Water Quality Test Results, remember:

Follow the Instructions Carefully!

To collect accurate results, we need you to read the instructions for your Earth Force LowCost Water Testing Kit very carefully.

The kit includes a manual with step-by-step, diagrammed instructions, an easy-to-use laminated color chart, and all the necessary bits and pieces to test ten water samples (three samples for coliform testing).

Good science is safe science!

When you’re gathering data, always be safe:

  • if you’re a minor, you must have adult supervision

  • wash your hands after handling water samples

  • wear appropriate clothing (like enclosed, outdoor shoes)

  • be sun smart

  • be croc wise

  • assess the risks! Ask yourself these questions:

    • What’s the safest spot to sample water?

    • Is it too slick/muddy to safely sample today?

    • Are there any hazards I need to avoid
(dead tree limbs overhead, loose rocks underfoot)?

Once you’ve safely and accurately gathered your data, submit your findings below!
